Daniil Medvedev vs Cameron Norrie prediction
Daniil Medvedev has failed to make a key breakthrough in any of the clay tournaments he’s competed in over the last six weeks. He lost in the third-round of the Monte-Carlo Masters but fared slightly better in Madrid with a run to the quarter-finals, though he lost to Casper Ruud in a largely uninspiring performance. His most recent event was in Rome as he made the fourth-round before losing to Lorenzo Musetti for the first time in a rain-interrupted encounter.
Cameron Norrie’s form seems to have improved as the clay season has gone on. He fell early on in Monte-Carlo and Barcelona but fared better in Madrid and Rome with runs to the third-round. He kept up the momentum in Geneva last week as he made a run from qualifying to the semi-finals, winning five matches in a row, before a three set loss to Novak Djokovic.
Medvedev leads the head-to-head 4-0 and hasn’t dropped a set in any of their encounters. They played less than three weeks ago in the second-round of the Italian Open, with the Russian comfortably winning 6-4 6-2. This was their only match on clay, and we expect Medvedev to win once more, but he should be wary of the threat that the improving Norrie poses.
Daniil Medvedev vs Cameron Norrie tip: Daniil Medvedev to win 3-0 or 3-1
