Daniil Medvedev’s quest to return to the top ten is very much on the cards following a second title of the year in Dubai.

The Russian endured a difficult 2025 but appears to be back to somewhere near his stubborn best.

The two-time finalist opens with a maiden encounter against Alejandro Tabilo, who crushed Rafael Jodar 6-1 6-2 in the opening round. 

The Chilean is another player who looks to be much more settled and confident this year and could pose problems for Medvedev if there’s any dip from the Russian.

We don’t expect it, however, with Medvedev’s consistency from the baseline sure to frustrate and lure a high unforced error count from Tabilo.
