Danielle Collins vs Sofia Kenin prediction

Danielle Collins earned a fine win in the second-round of the Italian Open as she defeated four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek. However, the American was unable to build on that win as she lost to Elina Svitolina in the fourth-round. She has only competed at one other clay court event in Charleston at the beginning of last month, which saw her make the quarter-finals before losing to Jessica Pegula despite taking the first set.

Collins made the final here last year, losing to Madison Keys. She takes on Sofia Kenin in the first-round this time around. Kenin has suffered early exits in both Madrid and Rome, failing to capitalise on a brilliant run to the final of the Charleston Open during early April. 

Collins leads the head-to-head 3-1, though Kenin won their most recent encounter and their only match on clay, which happened to be in the quarter-finals of the 2020 French Open. Neither are in the best of form and we can see this match between these two Americans going all the way.
