Danielle Collins vs Liudmila Samsonova prediction

Danielle Collins reached the semi-finals after her quarter-final opponent Anna Kalinskaya withdrew from the tournament hours before their match was due to take place. The American is now one game away from reaching back-to-back finals of the event and is in the last four of a tournament for the first time this season.

She takes on Liudmila Samsonova as she beat Paula Badosa in a close three set match. She defeated the Spaniard 6-4 3-6 6-4. After four losses from her previous five matches heading into the event, Samsonova has found some form at the right time with this being her best run since making the quarter-finals of Indian Wells two months ago.

Samsonova comfortably beat Collins in their only previous match, the first-round of the Washington Open two years ago. However, they’ve never played against each other on clay and Collins enjoys a very strong recent record in Strasbourg. She will be well rested for this one and we think she will win out over three sets.
