Daniel Merida Aguilar vs Adrian Mannarino prediction

Daniel Merida Aguilar edged past Otto Virtanen in the first-round of the Tiriac Open. The Spaniard, who had won his two previous matches in qualifying, looked on course for victory after winning the first set and going 3-0 up in the second. However, his game deserted him in the middle of the set as he was broken on three successive occasions, with Virtanen eventually levelling the match up. Both players exchanged breaks in the decider, but Merida Aguilar broke in the 11th game and served it out to win 7-6 (4) 5-7 7-5.

He faces Adrian Mannarino, who received a bye in round one. His results have been poor on the whole in 2026, and he has lost 10 of his 17 matches. He did make the final of the Open Occitanie in February, losing to Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Historically, Mannarino is not a strong player on this surface, and Merida Aguilar should be able to make this a very competitive watch.
