Daniel Altmaier vs Tomas Machac prediction
Daniel Altmaier finally picked up his first win on the ATP Tour this season as he began his European clay court season by reaching the quarter-finals of the Tiriac Open. He pulled off an incredible fightback to beat Dino Prizmic in the round-of-16, but he then lost to Fabian Marozsan.
He goes up against Tomas Machac in the first-round of the Monte-Carlo Masters. Machac competed at the Grand Prix Hassan II, but he lost his opening match to Rafael Jodar in three sets. The Czech began his season by winning the title at the Adelaide International, but his results have not been as convincing in recent weeks.
Altmaier also reached the final of a Challenger event in Naples just over a week ago, and he has managed to get some wins under his belt after a tough run to start to the season. He is a more dangerous player on clay and should be able to make this competitive against Machac.
