Daniel Altmaier vs Taylor Fritz prediction
Daniel Altmaier had a very encouraging Monte-Carlo Masters in early April, as he got through the qualifying stages and then earned a scalp with a victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime in the first-round. He would go on to lose to Carlos Alcaraz in round three. His form has been less impressive since, though he did make the semi-finals of a Turin Challenger two weeks ago. Auger-Aliassime exacted revenge against the German in his most recent event in Hamburg.
Taylor Fritz has struggled with an abdominal injury since February which meant he could only start his clay court campaign in Madrid. He lost in the fourth-round to winner Casper Ruud but his other two tournaments have been very poor as he fell to a defeat to Marcos Giron early in Rome and lost to Hubert Hurkacz in the quarters of Geneva despite being the top seed.
Fritz has not been close to his best this season and is yet to pick up a title, but given his far greater pedigree, he should still be expected to comfortably make it through this match against Altmaier.
