Dalma Galfi vs Ajla Tomljanovic prediction
Dalma Galfi advanced to the main draw in Madrid after qualifying wins over Leyre Romero Gormaz and Darja Vidmanova. Her best result of the season was a quarter-final at the WTA 125 event in Oeiras, while she has advanced to the second-round of tour-level events in Austin and Linz. However, there have been a host of first-round exits for the 27-year-old, and she has lost 11 of her 20 matches overall.
Her first-round opponent is Ajla Tomljanovic. The Australian seemed to have found form earlier in the year, having reached the quarter-finals of the ATX Open, and then won a further two matches on her way to the third-round of Indian Wells. However, she has only competed in one clay court event so far, and that was in Charleston three weeks ago. She was defeated in the first-round by Donna Vekic despite taking the first set.
Neither player is a commanding favourite for this one, but Tomljanovic has been able to pick up early wins so far in 2026.
