Cristian Garin vs Matteo Arnaldi prediction
Cristian Garin has lost seven of his ten matches so far this season, but he will be encouraged by his performances in the qualifying rounds of the Monte-Carlo Masters. He defeated Jesper de Jong and Nikoloz Basilashvili and is now through to the main draw of the tournament. His only previous appearance was in 2021, and he reached the third-round, losing to eventual champion Stefanos Tsitsipas.
He goes up against Matteo Arnaldi. The Italian also attempted to qualify for the tournament, but he only enters the event as a lucky loser as he was defeated by Alexandre Muller in three sets. It’s been a very tough season for Arnaldi so far, and he currently has six defeats from his last seven matches.
Neither player has managed to string a run of results together so far this year, but Arnaldi is vulnerable and Garin may just have enough to squeeze through and advance to the next round of the competition.
