SURREY STARS
- Surrey Stars will want to immediately bounce back from their hammering against Southern Vipers as their bid to retain their crown was dealt a big blow following the heavy loss by 89 runs.
- The Stars were helpless to prevent Danielle Wyatt running riot as she hit 110 off just 60 balls and with 179 needed to win, Surrey were unable to get anywhere near as they were bowled out for just 89.
- All-rounder Dane van Niekerk was in good form with the ball once again as she ended with figures of 3-31 but her form with the bat will need to improve moving forward as she contributed another low score as she managed just six runs.
YORKSHIRE DIAMONDS
- Yorkshire Diamonds came agonisingly close to securing just their second win of this year’s Women’s Super League but they could not hold on as Loughborough Lightning chased their total down with five balls remaining.
- The Diamonds did not post the best score as they ended up with 129 but despite managing the run-rate, they failed to take regular wickets which allowed the Lightning to do just enough to condemn Yorkshire to their fourth defeat of the competition.
- Yorkshire desperately need to get back to winning ways but it looks a difficult task ahead for them as they continue to struggle with both bat and ball with their bowling needing particular attention after taking just five wickets in their last two matches.

Reigning champions Surrey Stars will need to show a major improvement on their last showing after suffering a heavy loss against Southern Vipers. They cannot afford to lose again here against a team that are struggling in this year’s competition with Yorkshire Diamonds the visitors with just one win to their name so far. They have struggled in all facets of the game and could struggle again with the Stars able to show a reaction to their last performance.
