SOUTHERN VIPERS
- Southern Vipers showed great character last time out against Lancashire Thunder as they fought back from 24/4 to tie the Thunder’s total of 132 and grab another point which has helped keep them in second place.
- Stefania Taylor continued her fine form with the bat as she hit a fifty to lead the fightback and she now has scores of 40, 38, 44* and 51 in her last four innings as she is finding something close to her best form and she is the second top runscorer in the tournament this year.
- The Vipers know that defeat here could see them slip out of the top three places and after picking up just two points from their last three matches, this is a crunch match where they need to get back to winning ways.
SURREY STARS
- After winning their opening two matches, the Stars have had one abandonment and they lost their last match at the hands of Loughborough Lightning by seven wickets and over five overs remaining so they will be keen to bounce back here.
- The Stars will be hoping to improve their batting especially against the talented Vipers team as they have yet to hit a total of more than 130 in any of their matches and they may have to score more if they are to beat their opponents here.
- Only Lizelle Lee has reached three figures across all of their matches so far and she is the only one to have hit a fifty so far, so that area of the team is the one they need to improve on as their bowlers are in good form right now.
THE PREDICTION
This is a crunch match in the Kia Super League and whoever wins will give their chances of a top three place a massive boost. The Stars have lost a little momentum after a strong start to the tournament but will be hoping to get back on track here. The Vipers meanwhile are more than capable on their day of beating anybody but they are not firing on all cylinders just yet. There is very little to choose between the two teams, but the Stars may just have the greater depth with bat and ball which may swing this match in their favour.
