HOBART HURRICANES

• Hobart Hurricanes lost for the third time in four matches at the start of this Big Bash League campaign as Perth Scorchers outclassed them for the second time in succession in what was another heavy defeat for the Hobart outfit.
• The Hurricanes struggled with the bat once again as they failed to surpass 130 runs for the second game in-a-row in pursuit of the Scorchers’ total and that will be an area for improvement in this clash.

MELBOURNE STARS

• Melbourne Stars played their part in a thrilling contest with Sydney Sixers but they fell agonisingly short as their rivals surpassed their target with just two balls to spare to condemn the Stars to a seven-wicket defeat.
• The Stars will need to be better with the ball in this clash but after Glenn Maxwell whacked 103 in the contest with the Sixers, the Melbourne side will be looking to their skipper to lead from the front again to help them to another big total.

THE PREDICTION

Hobart Hurricanes need to make improvements across the board to improve on their poor start to the tournament and they now face another tough clash as they take on Melbourne Stars. Despite losing to Sydney Sixers last time out, the Stars showed enough in that game to suggest that they are trending in the right direction and having defeated the Hurricanes in four of their past five meetings, they should be able to make an immediate return to winning ways in this one.
