Corentin Moutet vs Arthur Cazaux prediction
Corentin Moutet performed well for France in the Davis Cup last time out, as he recorded two singles victories which propelled them into the final eight of the competition. Moutet defeated Croatia’s Dino Prizimic and Marin Cilic, a welcome return to form after a disappointing loss to Jordan Thompson in the first-round of the US Open. He’s now up to his highest ranking of 39 in the world, but an ATP title still alludes him.
Arthur Cazaux will be his opponent in the round-of-16. He picked up a good win as he defeated Matteo Arnaldi in three sets. A close match saw just three breaks of serve overall, with Cazaux finding a break when the Italian was serving to stay in the match.
This is their first match on a hard court but Moutet does lead the head-to-head 1-0 after a four set victory in round one of the 2023 French Open. He will take great confidence from his Davis Cup displays, and he will be a clear favourite to get through against his compatriot.
