Coco Gauff vs Iga Swiatek prediction

Coco Gauff continued her unbeaten run against Mirra Andreeva as she overcame the Russian 7-5 6-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Madrid Open. Andreeva served for the first set at 5-4 and had two set point opportunities, but Gauff managed to save them both and take hold of the match from that point. 

She takes on defending champion Iga Swiatek for a place in the final. The world number two suffered a horrific start against Madison Keys but fought back to win 0-6 6-3 6-2. She’s in her fourth semi-final of the season but she’s still yet to make a final. Swiatek has not been at her best during this tournament but has shown her battling qualities as she looks to defend her title.

The head-to-head is intriguing between the pair with Swiatek leading 11-3 and 5-0 on clay. However, Gauff has won their two most recent encounters in straight sets.

This tournament has been a step in the right direction for Gauff, but Swiatek has fought her way through the draw so far and we see that occurring once again here. We think she will reach her third Madrid Open final in succession, but it won’t be easy.
