Coco Gauff vs Elina Svitolina prediction

Coco Gauff made it back-to-back Rome finals with an excellent victory over Sorana Cirstea.

The 2025 runner-up overcame a slow start to conjure up a 6-4 6-3 victory at the expense of the in-form Romanian.

Coco will now tackle two-time champion Elina Svitolina in the showdown for the winner’s trophy after the Ukrainian battled to a 6-4 2-6 6-2 success over Clay Queen, Iga Swiatek.

This will be their sixth meeting with Elina leading the match-up 3-2, including victories at the Australian Open and in Dubai earlier this year. This will be their first battle on clay with three of the five previous encounters going the distance. 

Coco is the reigning French Open champion and will be eager to go one better in Rome this year after coming up just shy 12 months ago. That said, Svitolina is no slouch on clay and has her eyes on a pair of hat-tricks with a third title here up for grabs as well as a third win over Gauff in 2026.

It could go either way and given how both have dug in and scrapped when necessary this past fortnight, a punt on it going the distance is well worth your consideration.
