Clara Tauson vs Eva Lys prediction
Clara Tauson suffered an early exit at the US Open last time out as she lost a dramatic first-round match against Alexandra Eala. Tauson was 5-1 up in the decider but ceded control as Eala roared back to win in the third set tiebreak. Her run of form heading into the major was strong, with a quarter-final in Washington backed up by a run to the last four in Montreal. Tauson has also reached two hard court finals in 2025, winning the title in Auckland.
Her opponent is Eva Lys after she produced a fine display to get past Ashlyn Krueger. Despite having to withdraw from her last two events, the German seemed to be moving freely as she won 6-3 6-4 after an hour and 25 minutes.
Lys is a dangerous player, but Tauson will be looking to get back to winning ways after that blip in New York and some time away from the tour. This is not the easiest of encounters but, with her powerful game, the world number 12 should be coming away with the victory.
