  • Celta are unbeaten in their last four UEFA matches against Italian teams (W2 D2).
  • Celta have won four of their last five home matches in UEFA competition (L1), including both fixtures in this season’s UEFA Europa League.
  • Bologna’s only previous UEFA encounters with a Spanish side came against Real Betis in the third round of the 1998/99 UEFA Cup, where they won 4-1 at home in the first leg before losing 1-0 away in the return.
  • Bologna have lost just one of their last eight UEFA competition fixtures (W3 D4) and remain unbeaten in the most recent four (W2 D2).
  • Bologna have lost only one of their last 15 matches in all competitions (W8 D6).

Celta Vigo vs Bologna prediction

Celta Vigo, under the management of former B team coach Claudio Giraldez, have been inconsistent but entertaining to watch in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League this season with their five matches having consisted of 18 goals thus far, with three victories and two defeats in those games.

They face a Bologna side that, coached by Vincenzo Italiano, have been very good to watch for around 12 months or so now. They are unbeaten in four UEL games since losing their opener to Aston Villa in Birmingham. Their most recent outing saw them share a 1-1 draw with Lazio in Serie A at the weekend.

These are two proactive sides that seek to play on the front foot and so both teams scoring would appear a good bet for this one in the north west of Spain.
