Carlos Alcaraz vs Valentin Vacherot prediction
Carlos Alcaraz continued the defence of his title with a comfortable victory over Alexander Bublik. Both players exchanged breaks at the start of the first set, but Alcaraz soon took control and he won the last 10 games to secure a comfortable 6-3 6-0 win after one hour and three minutes. That was the 22-year-old’s 300th tour-level victory.
He will now face Valentin Vacherot for the first time. Vacherot continued his incredible run at his home tournament as he beat Alex de Minaur in three sets. The 2025 Shanghai Masters champion took the lead but was pegged back as De Minaur forced a deciding set. Nevertheless, the Monegasque broke in the fifth game and crucially went on to save three break points in one of his next service games as he sealed a 6-4 3-6 6-3 win.
Vacherot has enjoyed a brilliant week up to this point, but Alcaraz always creates opportunities on this surface. He has not been quite at his best so far at the event, but he is the clear favourite to get the job done.
