Camila Osorio vs Naomi Osaka prediction

Camila Osorio pulled off one of the upsets of the previous round as she beat Iva Jovic in three sets. Jovic dominated the early part of the match and was on course for victory when she broke to go 3-2 up in the second set, having already won the first. However, Osorio would break back, saving three match points as Jovic served for it, and went on to win the second on a tiebreak. The Colombian held her nerve in the decider to win 4-6 7-6 (4) 6-3 after two hours and 39 minutes.

She faces 2018 champion Naomi Osaka in the next round. The Japanese player had not competed since withdrawing from the Australian Open, but she began her campaign with a straight sets win over Victoria Jimenez Kasinsteva. The first set was anything but straight-forward, as Osaka failed to serve out the set on two occasions as Jimenez Kasintseva recovered from 5-1 down. However, the four-time Grand Slam champion would break again and then dominate the second to win 7-5 6-2.

The head-to-head is locked at 1-1, with Osorio winning their most recent encounter in the first-round of this event last year. She already has a title to her name this season and her variety could trouble Osaka at times.
