Camila Osorio vs Kamilla Rakhimova prediction

Camila Osorio lost in the first-round of the US Open last time out, to Lulu Sun in three sets. This followed second-round appearances in Montreal and Cincinnati. Her best run of form of the season was during the spring on clay, as she won the title in Bogota and reached a semi-final in Rabat.

Kamilla Rakhimova fared slightly better in New York, getting through to the second-round and losing to Daria Kasatkina in a close three setter. However, she then lost in the first-round of the 125 event in Guadalajara last week. Rakhimova has not performed to her optimum level this season, with her best results occurring during the grass court season, making the third-round at Wimbledon and getting through to the last four at the Eastbourne International.

Osorio leads the head-to-head 4-0 and 1-0 on hard court. She beat Rakhimova 7-6 6-2 in the quarter-final stage of this tournament last year, while she also got the better of the Russian earlier this season in Rabat. Neither player is in the best form but considering her success over her opponent in the past, Osorio deserves to be viewed as the favourite.
