Cameron Norrie impressed as he cruised past Mackenzie McDonald at Indian Wells.

The former champion clearly enjoys those conditions and rarely looked out of his comfort zone in a 6-2 6-3 win over the American. 

The Brit now takes on Alex de Minaur for a fifth time after the Aussie hit back from a set down to make it four wins in a row against Seb Korda.

The head-to-head is finely poised at 2-2 with Norrie leading 2-1 on hardcourts. 

Demon will be a clear favourite as the sixth seed but Norrie relishes this sort of challenge and there’s mileage in exploring the possibility of it going three.
