Burnley are destined for relegation to the Championship but they have shown some fight of late as the Clarets now welcome mid-table AFC Bournemouth to Turf Moor.

Burnley preview: Struggling Clarets

Scott Parker and his Burnley side begin the match day siting nine points adrift of safety, having put in some good performances of late and produced some incredible comebacks but, ultimately, it is all set to be fruitless.

The Clarets most recently succumbed to an underwhelming 2-0 defeat to Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium about ten days or so ago, due to goals scored by James Tarkowski and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in either half.

Bournemouth preview: Mid-table Cherries

AFC Bournemouth come into this one on the back of a frustrating run of four draws in their last five matches but Andoni Iraola’s side do sit tucked inside the top-half of the Premier League table and in the hunt for potential European qualification.

Their most recent outing, a goalless draw with Brentford at the Vitality Stadium down on the south coast last weekend, means that the visitors have now suffered just one defeat in their last eight matches.

Burnley team news: Flemming and Edwards back in training

Key attacking duo Zian Flemming and Marcus Edwards have both returned to training this midweek and could be available for the clash with Bournemouth on Saturday.

Connor Roberts and Zeki Amdouni have been long-term injury absentees but they have returned to training. They remain unavailable for first-team action, though.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Dubravka; Worrall, Esteve, Humphreys; Laurent, Ward-Prowse, Mejbri, Pires; Bruun Larsen, Flemming, Anthony

Unavailable: Beyer (Injured), Tuanzebe (Injured), Roberts (Fitness), Cullen (Injured), Tresor (Fitness), Amdouni (Fitness)

Questionable: Edwards (Fitness), Flemming (Fitness), Broja (Fitness)

Bournemouth team news: No new injuries

In his pre-match press conference, AFC Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has said there are no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for the trip to Lancashire.

Ben Gannon Doak has begun to train once again but remains sidelined, while Julio Soler is still unavailable alongside both Lewis Cook and Justin Kluivert.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Jimenez, Hill, Senesi, Truffert; Scott, Adams; Rayan, Tavernier, Adli; Evanilson

Unavailable: Soler (Injured), Cook (Injured), Kluivert (Injured), Gannon Doak (Fitness)

Questionable:

Burnley vs Bournemouth prediction

Bournemouth play some energetic and intense football. That style has made coach Iraola, formerly of Rayo Vallecano, highly sought after and securing European qualification may be the best chance for the visitors to keep hold of him. Burnley, as mentioned, may well be able to bloody the nose of the difficult to defeat Cherries but a Bournemouth victory is to be expected for this one in Lancashire.
