Burkina Faso come into this one on the back of an entertaining 3-2 victory over Niger in their most recent outing, with Heart of Midlothian striker Pierre Kabore scoring an impressive hat-trick. The Burkinabe’s missed out on 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification to a very strong Egypt side in Group A of CAF qualifying.
They now face a Benin side that headed into the final game of CAF qualifying sit at the top-of-the-table but they succumbed to a 4-0 defeat to Nigeria and ended up third in the table, with South Africa winning the group. They have a limited squad but have found form as a team under former Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr.
Burkina Faso are beginning to find some form and fluency in attack with an emerging squad, and so the Burkinabe’s have to be viewed as favourites for this one.
