Brest preview: Struggling Brest

Under the management of former Sunderland player Eric Roy, Stade Brest have overperformed and overachieved in recent seasons, having qualified for the UEFA Champions League during the 2023/24 campaign.

They begin the fourth match day of the 2025/26 Ligue 1 season sitting in the bottom two and the automatic relegation places. Brest have collected just a point from their opening three matches, albeit they have remained entertaining.

Paris preview: Big spending Parisiens

Paris have gained promotion back to the top-flight of the French football with one of the wealthiest ownership groups, the Arnauld Family, and they are trying to push themselves in to becoming a Ligue 1 stalwart over the next few years.

They started their Ligue 1 season with back-to-back losses against Angers and Olympique de Marseille away from home, before then producing an entertaining 3-2 victory over Metz at Stade Jean-Bouin a couple of weeks ago.

Brest team news: Couple of suspensions

Brest are dealing with a couple of key suspension issues for this weekend, as goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki is sidelined alongside midfielder Hugo Magnetti.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Coudert; Lala, Le Cardinal, Junior Diaz, Locko; Doumbia, Chotard, Camblan; Del Castillo, Ajorque, Balde

Unavailable: Radejcki (Suspended), Magnetti (Suspended)

Paris team news: Couple of doubts

The Parisiens have a couple of key attacking injury doubts for this trip to Brest with Alimani Gory set to be potentially sidelined alongside Pierre-Yves Hamel this weekend.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Trapp; Chergui, Mbow, Otavio, De Smet; Lopez, Marchetti, Camara; Kebbal, Geubbels, Simon

Unavailable:

Questionable: Gory (Injured), Hamel (Injured)

Brest vs Paris prediction

Stade Brest have been overperformers in Ligue 1 for quite a while, but they began to regress last season and it could well be that a complete regression is now in progress with what is becoming an ageing and weaker squad. They face a Parisien side that have got themselves off the mark with an entertaining victory last time out, and with Brest’s three matches consisting of 12 goals, this could once again be quite entertaining for this one.

Brest vs Paris tip: Both teams to score
