THE LOWDOWN
Conor Benn (19-0) will step up his efforts to work his way up the world rankings as he faces the toughest bout of his career to date as he takes on Chris Algieri. Benn overcame Adrian Granados in his last bout in September, claiming the victory by unanimous decision. Benn had to utilise his boxing smarts in that fight with his power not quite cutting it and he may have to do the same again here against Algieri.
Chris Algieri (25-3) has now four his last four fights thanks to claiming a win over Mikkel LesPierre back in August. Algieri looks to be finding some greater consistency towards the back end of his career after he lost three of four bouts between 2014 and 2016 with those still being the only defeats of his career to date.
THE PREDICTION
This will be a good test for Conor Benn at this stage of his career as he looks to make another step up in his quest to climb up the rankings, putting himself into contention for a shot at titles. He faces veteran Chris Algieri who knows his way around the ring and will pose some questions for Benn. The American will look to utilise his experience to his advantage but Benn is developing all the time and he can put in a classy performance to ensure the judges hand him the win.
