Bournemouth preview: Cherries beaten in Manchester
AFC Bournemouth still had a slim chance of a top eight finish and potential European qualification this season but the Cherries have instead suffered a defeat to Manchester City to end their Premier League campaign, just as it did in the FA Cup quarter-finals in March.
Bournemouth weren’t at it at all at the Etihad Stadium in midweek with an excellent Omar Marmoush goal being followed by strikes from Bernardo Silva and Nico Gonzalez to give City a comfortable win before a late Daniel Jebbison consolation for Andoni Iraola’s side.
Leicester preview: Foxes finishing with a flourish
Leicester City are going down but they aren’t necessarily going down with a whimper as Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Foxes come into this one on the back of collecting seven points from their last three matches.
A 2-2 draw with top five chasing Nottingham Forest has been sandwiched by victories at the King Power Stadium against fellow relegated side Ipswich Town and Southampton. Jamie Vardy scored in last week’s win over Ipswich; his 200th goal in his 500th and final Leicester match.
Bournemouth team news: A few doubts
Andoni Iraola has confirmed that midfielder Alex Scott has returned to training and is wearing a face mask. There will be a late call made on whether the England U21 international can play. Lewis Cook is missing through suspension following a red card against City the other day.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Smith, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Adams, Brooks; Tavernier, Kluivert, Semenyo; Evanilson
Unavailable: Christie (Injured), Cook (Suspended), Unal (Injured)
Questionable: Scott (Injured), Sinisterra (Injured), Ouattara (Injured)
Leicester team news: The Vardy party is over
Jamie Vardy played his 500th and final Leicester game last weekend and it is confirmed he will not play on the final day. Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed there are no fresh injury concerns for the Foxes this week.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Stolarczyk; Justin, Coady, Faes, Thomas; Ndidi, Soumare; McAteer, Ayew, El Khannouss; Daka
Unavailable: Hermansen (Injured), Fatawu (Injured), Decordova-Reid (Injured), Mavididi (Injured), Vardy (Personal reasons)
Questionable: Winks (Out of favour)
Bournemouth vs Leicester prediction
AFC Bournemouth could well be heading into a summer of change with Dean Huijsen set to depart for Real Madrid and many others being linked with a move away, as well as manager Andoni Iraola. They face a Leicester side that are finishing with a bit of pride so they will likely try and take the game to their potentially unmotivated opposition down on the south coast and both teams scoring in a fun watch would appear a good bet for this one.
Bournemouth vs Leicester tip: Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals
