Stuttgart are looking to get back inside the top four, whilst Borussia Monchengladbach want to break out of mid-table obscurity.

Borussia Monchengladbach preview: Poor run of form

Borussia Monchengladbach have won just one of their last five league games and as a result, currently find themselves firmly marooned in midtable on 20 points. Their 18 matches played so far in the Bundesliga have yielded five wins and five draws, with the remaining eight games ending in defeat.

The most recent positive from Gladbach’s perspective was how their backline responded after shipping five goals away at Hoffenheim. Travelling to Hamburg, resilience was shown and a much-improved performance saw them shut out the newly promoted side in a goalless draw.

Stuttgart preview: Still unbeaten

Although Stuttgart ended up dropping points last time out in the Bundesliga with a 1-1 draw at home to Union Berlin, they did at least extend their unbeaten run in the league to five games since they were thrashed 0-5 by runaway table toppers Bayern Munich back in early December last year.

Scoring goals hasn’t been a problem for Sebastian Hoeness’ men, but they could do with tightening up from a defensive standpoint. With all the teams around them winning, three points here is absolutely crucial for Stuttgart, so expect a very attacking playstyle.

Borussia Monchengladbach team news: Four out

Borussia Monchengladbach are missing four players through injury heading into this match, including striker Tim Kleindienst.

Predicted XI: (3-4-3): Nicolas; Sander, Elvedi, Takai; Scally, Reitz, Engelhardt, Netz; Honorat, Tabakovic, Neuhaus

Stuttgart team news: Zagadou most notable out

Zagadou is one of four injured players on the visiting side, with Tomas, Jaquez and Jovanovic also on the treatment table.

Predicted XI: (4-2-3-1): Nubel; Vagnoman, Hendriks, Chabot, Mittelstadt; Karazor, Stiller; Leweling, Nartey, Fuhrich; Demirovic

Unavailable: Jaquez (Injured), Jovanovic (Injured), Tomas (Injured), Zagadou (Injured)

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Stuttgart prediction

Borussia Monchengladbach seen to be too good a team to go down, but at the same time not good enough to really challenge the clubs chasing European football next season and Stuttgart may well show this. The visiting side are enjoying an excellent spell of form and have won over half of their league fixtures this season.

With the players at Hoeness’ disposal from an attacking point of view in particular, it’s hard to see Gladbach being able to outscore Stuttgart. With that in mind, back an away win but via the draw no bet market for extra security.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Stuttgart tip: Stuttgart draw no bet
