Borussia Monchengladbach preview: Catching fire

Borussia Monchengladbach are officially scorching hot and their form is starting to catch the attention of everybody else. Three straight league wins with at least three goals scored across each of the three matches has got supporters excited again and their early-season struggles feel very much a distant memory now.

They need to maintain their recent high levels of performance, particularly from an offensive standpoint with a large eight-point-gap still between them and sixth-place, which underlines how much work Gladbach still have to do.

RB Leipzig preview: Professional job

RB Leipzig did an efficient job last weekend against Werder Bremen, although they had to remain patient at home as Werder frustrated them across the first half. In the end, Leipzig broke through in the 63rd minute through Assan Ouedraogo, before Xavi Schlager sealed victory with ten minutes remaining.

The victory kept them within six points of table toppers Bayern Munich, who got the better of Freiburg. It also kept Bayer Leverkusen at bay and saw Leipzig move a further two points clear of both Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart, after those two sides contested a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Borussia Monchengladbach team news: Omlin still out

Nicolas will continue in goal for Borussia Monchengladbach with Jonas Omlin still injured. Ngoumou and Sander are also missing, whilst Urbich is out through illness.

Predicted XI: (3-4-3): Nicolas; Scally, Elvedi, Diks; Castrop, Reitz, Engelhardt, Netz; Honorat, Tabakovic, Reyna

RB Leipzig team news: Changes required

Injuries to Ouedraogo and Romulo means that RB Leipzig will need to make some adjustments to their team. Expect Conrad Harder to come in up top, while Schlager or Amadou Haidara can fill the void left by Ouedraogo.

Predicted XI: (3-4-3): Gulacsi; Baku, Orban, Lukeba, Raum; Schlager, Seiwald, Baumgartner; Bakayoko, Harder, Nusa

Unavailable: Bitshiabu (Injured), Henrichs (Injured), Ouedraogo (Injured), Romulo (Injured)

Borussia Monchengladbach vs RB Leipzig prediction

There is always a danger when playing away from home in the Bundesliga and RB Leipzig are certainly well aware of that after having been beaten by Hoffenheim last time they were on the road. They are running into a red-hot Borussia Monchengladbach side and with a couple of key injuries, this is set to be a challenging evening for Ole Werner’s side.

The free-scoring nature of Gladbach cannot be ignored and with a whopping ten goals in their last three league games, not to mention playing against a team who conceded three in Sinsheim, this is an opportunity that the hosts really need to take if they are serious about making a sustained push towards those European places. Utilise the double chance market and back Gladbach to get something out of this game, whether that be a point or three.
