Eintracht Frankfurt, the Bundesliga’s great entertainers this season make the trip to Borussia Monchengladbach, who are currently sat inside the bottom two.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch online: UK – Sky Go / US – ESPN+

Borussia Monchengladbach preview: Still no win

Borussia Monchengladbach are one of just two teams in the Bundesliga who are yet to win a game in the German top flight so far in 2025-26, the other being rock bottom Heidenheim. It’s currently played four, drawn two and lost two for Gladbach after they snatched a point away at Bayer Leverkusen with a late equaliser.

It was looking like being another disappointing day at the office for Gladbach after Malik Tillman put Leverkusen in front with 20 minutes to go but Haris Tabakovic had other ideas, equalising for Gladbach in the second minute of injury time, handing them their second point of the campaign.

Eintracht Frankfurt preview: Free-scoring but sliding

When considering that Eintracht Frankfurt have scored four goals across their last two Bundesliga games, it must be seen as a real disappointment from their perspective that they lost both matches. The most recent of those saw Dino Toppmoller’s side lose a 3-4 thriller at home to Union Berlin as they were consistently caught out on the counter-attack, with Oliver Burke netting a hat-trick.

Only Bayern Munich boast more Bundesliga goals so far this season than Eintracht’s total of 11 and that’s not including their 5-1 thrashing of Galatasaray in the Champions League. But to arrest this recent slide, they need to shore things up defensively.

Borussia Monchengladbach team news: Kleindienst still out

Borussia Monchengladbach continue to do without striker Tim Kleindienst, who is still nursing a knee injury. However, the hosts could have Honorat, Swider and Reyna all available if they pass late fitness tests.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Nicolas; Diks, Elvedi, Chiarodia; Scally, Reitz, Engelhardt, Ullrich; Stoger, Tabakovic, Castrop

Unavailable: Hack (Injured), Kleindienst (Injured), Mohya (Injured), Ngoumou (Injured)

Questionable: Honorat (Injured), Swider (Illness), Reyna (Injured)

Eintracht Frankfurt team news: Two out for visitors

Eintracht Frankfurt will once again be missing centre back Rasmus Kristensen with a thigh injury, whilst it is also a thigh problem that is currently keeping forward Jessic Ngankam from returning to action.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Santos; Collins, Koch, Theate, Brown; Larsson, Chaibi; Bahoya, Uzun, Doan; Burkardt

Unavailable: Kristensen (Injured), Ngankam (Injured)

Questionable:

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction

When Eintracht Frankfurt are on the field, goals normally follow and it would be no surprise if that wound up being the case again against Borussia Monchengladbach. However, that is no guarantee of them going on to win the match. It does make them extremely watchable though and creating goalscoring opportunities shouldn’t be an issue.

One player to focus on in particular in striker Jonathan Burkardt. He already boasts three goals this season across five games in all competitions. He’s in form and clearly feeling confident in front of goal. Expect him to get chances against Gladbach and backing him to score should be seriously considered.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Eintracht Frankfurt tip: Jonathan Burkardt to score anytime
