Bologna preview: Entertaining but beaten

Bologna come into this one on the back of a frustrating 1-0 defeat to Juventus at the Renato Dall’Ara in their most recent outing, last weekend, with Juan Cabal scoring in the 64th minute for the Bianconeri before Torbjorn Heggem was then sent off for Bologna.

The home team, coached by Vincenzo Italiano, remain in the hunt for a top four spot but they have been indifferent of late. They have collected one point from three matches in Serie A, albeit did defeat Celta Vigo by two goals to one in the UEFA Europa League.

Inter Milan preview: Strong Inter

Cristian Chivu’s Internazionale head to Saudi Arabia assured that they will remain at the top-of-the-table. The Nerazzurri haven’t been at their previously relentless best of the last couple of seasons but have remained good enough to win more than most.

Inter come into this one on the back of a 2-1 victory against Genoa in Liguria last week with first-half goals scored by Yann Bisseck and Lautaro Martinez before Vitinha then pulled a goal back for an improved Genoa side mid-way through the second-half.

Bologna team news: Defensive injuries

Despite his red card, Torbjorn Heggem remains available in this competition but Bologna do have a few defensive injury issues as Martin Vitik and Nicolo Casale remain sidelined alongside goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski and midfielder Remo Freuler.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Ravaglia; Zortea, Heggem, Jhon Lucumi, Juan Miranda; Moro, Pobega; Orsolini, Ferguson, Cambiaghi; Dallinga

Unavailable: Skorupski (Injured), Vitik (Injured), Casale (Injured), Freuler (Injured)

Questionable:

Inter Milan team news: Several injuries

Inter have plenty of defensive injury issues for this one with the experienced Francesco Acerbi and Matteo Darmian both still sidelined alongside Netherlands international wing-back Denzel Dumfries.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Luiz Henrique, Barella, Zielinski, Sucic, Carlos Augusto; Esposito, Lautaro Martinez

Unavailable: Di Gennaro (Injured), Palacios (Injured), Acerbi (Injured), Darmian (Injured), Dumfries (Injured), Calhanoglu (Injured)

Questionable:

Bologna vs Inter Milan prediction

Bologna have been very good in the last couple of seasons, even with Italiano having replaced Thiago Motta and some big money sales during that time. They take on an Inter side that are themselves in good form but have struggled in big games this season, with defeats to AC Milan and Napoli, as well as Liverpool. As a result, it may well be a good value bet to side with Bologna for this one in Saudi Arabia.

Bologna vs Inter Milan tip: Double chance – Bologna to win or draw
