Bianca Andreescu vs Qinwen Zheng prediction

An injury-free Bianca Andreescu produced the sort of tennis that steered her to a US Open title as she ended Elena Rybakina’s Rome run in style.

The 2023 champion had no answer as the Canadian raced to a surprise 6-2 6-4 success.

Andreescu will now meet eighth seed Qinwen Zheng, who was also clinical in a 6-3 6-2 triumph over Magdalena Frech. 

This will be their second encounter after Zheng won in a decider in Toronto three years ago.

The Chinese star is executing a similar clay-court strategy to the one that led to glory at the Olympics last year and if she lands the first-serve consistently she will be confident of continuing her bid for the title. 

Andreescu's rise back up the rankings continues to gather pace and if she can keep hitting freely she is more than capable of an upset, which makes this one well worth a watch.
