Benjamin Bonzi vs Quentin Halys prediction

Benjmain Bonzi impressed on the clay for the first time this season before injury cruelly curtailed his progress at the Madrid Open. He comfortably defeated former Grand Slam champion Marin Cilic in the first-round, winning in straight sets before a very impressive win over 27th seed Hubert Hurkacz in the next-round. He took the first set against third seed Taylor Fritz but sustained a back injury when he was just two games away from victory and was forced to withdraw after Fritz had taken the second set.

Bonzi spoke of his immense frustration after the match, believing that he was tantalisingly close to the best win of his career. He will want to continue his upturn in form when he competes in the first-round of this event against Quentin Halys.

Halys has played just two clay court matches so far this season, losing early on in both Madrid and Aix-en-Provence. Bonzi leads the head-to-head 2-0 though they have never faced each other on clay before.

As long as his injury concerns are behind him, we back Bonzi to win this in straight sets.

Benjamin Bonzi vs Quentin Halys tip: Benjamin Bonzi to win 2-1
