Benfica vs Napoli prediction

The last round of league phase fixtures saw Benfica finally register their first victory in European under Jose Mourinho, taking full advantage of facing bottom of the table Ajax and winning 0-2 away from home against the fallen Dutch giants. Napoli meanwhile, were indebted to Scott McTominay’s opener vs Qarabag before an own goal sealed a 2-0 win for Antonio Conte’s side.

Those three points gained in Amsterdam could well act as a springboard for Benfica to make a late charge for a playoff place and keep their Champions League dreams alive for the season. Meanwhile, Napoli are really starting to click as an all-round unit of late having won their last four games in all competitions, not including a penalty shootout victory over Cagliari in the Coppa Italia.

This run has seen Conte’s men take down notable opposition such as Roma, Atalanta and most recently Juventus. Defensively, they now look watertight and much more like a Conte coached team. Benfica will likely struggle to break them down and a smart play would be backing the visitors to come away from Lisbon with either a draw or victory via the double chance market.

Benfica vs Napoli Tip: Double chance - draw/Napoli
