He now faces Thiago Agustin Tirante in the quarter-finals. The Argentine continued his fine week as he thrashed Mackenzie McDonald to reach the last eight. Agustin Tirante dropped just three games in his first-round match against Colton Smith, and he dropped just two here as he won 6-2 6-0 after only an hour and seven minutes. He reached the quarter-finals of the Rio Open in February.
Shelton is the top seed and will start as the clear favourite, but Agustin Tirante is comfortable on the clay and should be able to make this a competitive watch.
