Beatriz Haddad Maia vs Zarazua Renata prediction

Beatriz Haddad Maia continued her perfect run on home turf as she powered into the last eight in Sao Paulo.

The top seed saw off her compatriot Laura Pigossi 6-1 6-4 to tee up a showdown with fifth seed Renata Zarazua.

The Mexican was too consistent and solid for Bergu Cengiz as she posted a 6-4 6-4 success.

This will be their third meeting with Haddad Maia winning the previous two, with the most recent seeing the Brazilian leading 3-0 when Zarazua retired early at a W80 event in Macon back in 2021.

The hardcourt may well add to the challenge for Zarazua who may find the home favourite’s big-hitting game tough to neutralise in these conditions.

It might not be as straight-forward as in previous rounds, but the top seed should maintain her title push here.
