Bayern Munich vs Sporting CP prediction

A trip to Emirates Stadium in the fifth round of league phase fixtures saw Bayern Munich’s unbeaten campaign across all competitions in 2025-26 come to an end at the hands of Arsenal. Mikel Arteta’s Premier League leaders came out on top by two goals to one in a battle of European titans which saw Harry Kane kept quiet and 17-year-old Lennart Karl on the scoresheet for the first time in the Champions League.

Sporting CP’s 3-0 win over Club Brugge ended a run of three Champions League games without a win and took the Portuguese side up to eighth-place in the table, currently enough to secure automatic qualification for the round of 16. But Bayern away represents the toughest test in Europe so far this season for a team without a clean sheet on the road.

Bayern blew Stuttgart away this weekend by five goals to nil despite starting Kane on the bench, the England star coming on to net a second-half hattrick. Vincent Kompany’s men won’t want to drop anymore points in Europe after the Arsenal defeat, so expect a strong team minus Luis Diaz and for the Rekordmeister to come out of the traps extremely quickly. Their quality should be too much for Sporting to contain and lead to a comfortable home win by at least two clear goals.

Bayern Munich vs Sporting CP Tip: Bayern Munich to win with -1 handicap
