Bayern Munich preview: Brilliant but beaten

In midweek, Bayern Munich come into this one on the back of a thrilling 5-4 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final in midweek, fighting back from 5-2 down to stand a chance in the second-leg.

The Bavarians have been crowned champions in the Bundesliga but Vincent Kompany doesn’t want them to let up, as shown by their second-half performance at Mainz last weekend as they fought back from 3-0 down to win 4-3 away from home.

Heidenheim preview: Fighting Heidenheim

Heidenheim begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the bottom two and the automatic relegation places down at the bottom end of the Bundesliga table but they have shown some real fight of late.

That continued last weekend as the visitors defeated fellow strugglers St Pauli by two goals to nil at the Voith Arena, courtesy of goals scored by Budu Zivzivadze and Eren Dinkci.

Bayern Munich team news: Probable rotation

Bayern don’t want to be complacent but, with the title wrapped up and the focus on Europe, the hosts will likely name a rotated eleven for the visit of Heidenheim.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Stanisic, Kim, Ito, Davies; Laimer, Goretzka; Olise, Kane, Luis Diaz; Jackson

Unavailable: Bischof (Injured), Guerreiro (Injured), Gnabry (Injured)

Questionable: Karl (Injured)

Heidenheim team news: Several doubts

Heidenheim head to Munich with a few key doubts as Benedikt Gimber is potentially sidelined alongside attacking duo Mikkel Kaufmann and Mathias Honsak.

Predicted XI (4-1-2-1-2): Ramaj; Busch, Mainka, Fohrenbach, Behrens; Dorsch; Schoppner, Beck; Dinkci; Pieringer, Zivzivadze

Unavailable: Paqarada (Injured), Conteh (Injured)

Questionable: Gimber (Injured), Kaufmann (Injured) Honsak (Injured)

Bayern Munich vs Heidenheim prediction

Heidenheim have suffered just one defeat in their last five matches with a recent defeat of Union Berlin, too, coming on the back of entertaining and high-scoring draws against Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach. Bayern will be distracted and are expected to heavily rotate here but they should still come out on top in a likely high-scoring affair at the Allianz Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Bayern Munich vs Heidenheim tip: Bayern Munich to win & over 2.5 goals
