Basel 1893 come into this one on the back of a 6-1 demolition of Biel-Bienne in the first round of the Swiss Cup in their most recent outing at the weekend. In the Swiss Super League, they have started the 2025/26 campaign with a couple of victories and a couple of defeats as they sit behind St Gallen, Thun and Sion domestically.
They now face a Copenhagen side that began their European campaign last month. The Danes hammered Kosovan champions Drita Gjilan by three goals to nil on aggregate in the second qualifying round before then hammering Swedish champions Malmo by five goals to nil on aggregate in the third qualifying round.
Basel are likely to give Copenhagen a bit of a game in Switzerland, but the poor domestic form of the hosts and Copenhagen’s European form should mark them out as favourites.
