Basel 1893 have started steadily in the league phase of this competition with two victories and three defeats in their opening five matches. The Swiss outfit most recently enjoyed a 2-1 victory over Winterthur at the weekend, to mean that they have suffered just one defeat in their last five matches across all competitions.
After a woeful start to the campaign, Aston Villa have moved themselves into the title race in the Premier League with Unai Emery’s Villains, favourite for this competition, having won 13 of their last 15 games. The visitors managed to dramatically defeat Arsenal by two goals to one at Villa Park the other day.
Aston Villa head to Switzerland as the firm favourites for this one and, even if they are to rotate, should still come out on top to continue their excellent form of late.
