Barcelona vs Alaves prediction

Barcelona's most recent La Liga fixture was a thrilling 4-0 hammering of Athletic Club at Camp Nou last weekend, a couple of weeks after a 4-2 victory over Celta Vigo. Real Madrid dropping points in successive matches has allowed Blaugrana to close the gap to just one point at the top-of-the-table in La Liga, although the Catalan giants did suffer a setback in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday with a 3-0 loss at Chelsea.

They now face a Deportivo Alaves side that, under the management of former Celta Viggo boss Eduardo Coudet, have been much-improved this season but they have now suffered three defeats in their last four matches. The Basque outfit were beaten 1-0 by Celta Vigo at the Mendizorroza.

Alaves have become a little more open under Coudet and that may not help them in Barcelona with a heavy home win to be expected for this one.

Barcelona vs Alaves tip: Barcelona to win -2 handicap
