Auxerre vs Metz prediction

Although Auxerre are still a fairly resilient team defensively, they are majorly lacking in the attacking areas and that is the sole reason that they find themselves bottom of the Ligue 1 table heading into this fixture.

Sinaly Diomande's goal in a 1-1 draw at Paris FC was their Auxerre's first goal in six matches, illustrating just how goal shy Christopher Pelissier's men have been.

Metz have not fared much better overall, but they have shown marginally more ambition and occasionally produce strong displays. Indeed, they embarked on a three-game winning run recently, although have suffered a couple of defeats since then.

They are just two points ahead of Auxerre in the table, and given the stakes and the lack of consistent quality in either camp, goals may be at a premium here. In what is likely to be a scrappy contest short on quality, under 2.5 goals looks likely.

Auxerre vs Metz tip: Under 2.5 goals
