In the group stages, Australia were extremely impressive as they romped to five wins from five before an emphatic eight-wicket win against the West Indies in the semi-finals. They restricted the Windies to just 125-7, chasing it down in 13 overs with an unbeaten 61 scored by Beth Mooney from just 36 deliveries.
England, on the other hand, have been equally as impressive. They too enjoyed five wins from five in the group stages before a comfortable 40-run win against South Africa, hitting 169, with Nat Sciver-Brunt the star, and then a disciplined bowling performance, led by Lauren Bell, seeing them through.
These have been comfortably the two strongest teams at the tournament and the final is perhaps a success for an under pressure and still transitioning England side, with the machine-like Australians getting back on track themselves and expected to add more silverware to their cabinet, which consists of seven World Cups and six T20 World Cups.
