Atalanta preview: Drifting Bergamasci

Atalanta come into this one on the back of a 3-2 loss away at a relegation-threatened Cagliari side at the Unipol Demus in Sardinia, having led at half-time due to a brace scored by key striker Gianluca Scamacca.

Raffaele Palladino and his Atalanta side are now drifting from the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots as they remain in contention for European football but in fairly average form for the last couple of months.

Genoa preview: Improved Genovese

They now face a Genoa side that, ever since the appointment of Daniele De Rossi, have moved themselves into the middle-of-the-table after failing to win any of their opening nine matches of the campaign.

The Genovese most recently did succumb to a defeat, though, as they were beaten 2-0 by a top four chasing Como side at the Luigi Ferraris in Liguria due to goals scored by Tasos Douvikas and Assane Diao.

Atalanta team news: Bernasconi out

Atalanta have a fresh injury concern for this one as the versatile and improving Luca Bernasconi is now sidelined for the hosts this weekend.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi; Scalvini, Djimsiti, Kolasinac; Bellanova, De Roon, Pasalic, Zappacosta; De Ketelaere, Raspadori; Scamacca

Unavailable: Bernasconi (Injured)

Questionable:

Genoa team news: Several doubts

Genoa head to Bergamo with a few doubts for this one as Justin Biljow is potentially sidelined alongside Brooke Norton-Cuffy, Caleb Ekuban and Tommaso Baldanzi.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Leali; Marcandalli, Ostigard, Otoa, Johan Vasquez; Sabelli, Frendrup, Amorim, Ellertsson; Vitinha, Ekhator

Unavailable:

Questionable: Biljow (Injured), Norton-Cuffy (Injured), Ekuban (Injured), Baldanzi (Injured)

Atalanta vs Genoa prediction

Genoa are pushing themselves into mid-table. The visitors have been among the top ten teams since the start of November. They travel to an Atalanta side that have now managed two victories in their last 12 matches across all competitions. Given that run of form, siding with Genoa would appear a reasonable bet for this one in Bergamo on Saturday evening.
