Atalanta have underwhelmed in Serie A but they got themselves a very big win in midweek as the Bergamasci now face a Cagliari side who should also be confident.

Atalanta vs Cagliari prediction

With Raffaele Palladino having replaced Ivan Juric about a month or so ago, Atalanta have improved of late and that continued in midweek as they turned things around against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League, courtesy of second-half strikes from Charles De Ketelaere and Gianluca Scamacca.

Cagliari come into this one on the back of ending a long winless run of form with a much-needed victory against Roma at the Unipol Demus in Sardinia last week, courtesy of an 82nd minute winner scored by Gianluca Gaetano after Turkey international right-back Zeki Celik was sent off earlier on in the second-half for Roma.

Cagliari did get themselves a vital win against the Giallorossi last week but Atalanta will fancy themselves for this one, especially with their home advantage at the Gewiss Stadium.
