Aryna Sabalenka vs Linda Noskova prediction

Top seed Aryna Sabalenka overcame the challenge of Victoria Mboko in the quarter-finals, with the world number one winning 7-6 (7-0), 6-4 as she continues her bid to win the Indian Wells Open for the first time in her career.

Sabalenka played clutch tennis when she needed to, defending all five break-point opportunities that were presented to her Canadian opponent.

Linda Noskova finds herself in her second 1000-rated semi-final after coming through a tough battle with Talia Gibson in the last eight.

Czech star Noskova mixed 13 aces with ten double faults in a somewhat erratic display on serve, but eventually came through 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.

This is only the second meeting between the pair, with Sabalenka winning in Adelaide three years ago, but with Noskova now 14th in the WTA rankings, this may start to become a more regular matchup on tour.

This may be a little too soon for the 21-year-old to seriously trouble Sabalenka's game though. The world number one will be battle-hardened after her contest with Mboko, and she is capable of taking this in straight sets.
