Arthur Cazaux vs Matteo Arnaldi prediction

Arthur Cazaux entered US Open qualifying as the top seed but could not get through to the main draw after losing at the final stage to Jan-Lennard Struff. Struff would go on to make the fourth-round at Flushing Meadows. His best form of the season came straight after Wimbledon, as he reacched the semi-finals in Gstaad and made the final in Kitzbuhel a week later, losing to Alexander Bublik on both occasions. Nevertheless, those events were both on clay and he has a negative win-loss record on hard courts this season, having lost 10 of his 18 matches.

His first-round opponent in Hangzhou is Matteo Arnaldi. He is without a win in his last four matches and is now down at 73 in the world, 11 places above Cazaux. He went two sets up against Francisco Cerundolo in the first-round of the US Open but ran out of steam and went on to lose. Despite his poor form, the Italian can still be a dangerous player and did make the semi-finals of the Delray Beach Open in March.
