Arsenal preview: Impressive Gunners

Arsenal returned from the November international break at the weekend by hammering Tottenham Hotspur by four goals to one in the north London derby at the Emirates Stadium with a strike from Leandro Trossard and an Eberechi Eze hat-trick.

In their 18 matches across all competitions so far this season, Arsenal have suffered just one defeat and Mikel Arteta’s side are one of three sides in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League with a 100% record after four matches.

Bayern Munich preview: Strong Bavarians

One of the other two teams to have won four from four are Bayern Munich, who are sitting at the top of the 36-team table, above Arsenal simply on goals scored, having most recently beaten defending champions Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes.

Vincent Kompany’s Bavarians have been magnificent this season with 17 victories and one draw in their 18 matches so far this season. They most recently hammered Freiburg by six goals to two at the Allianz Arena in the Bundesliga at the weekend.

Arsenal team news: Duo potentially fit

There is a chance that captain Martin Odegaard returns to full fitness alongside Viktor Gyokeres for this one but both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus remain sidelined alongside fresh injury absentee Gabriel.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Hincapie, Calafiori; Rice, Zubimendi, Eze; Saka, Merino, Trossard

Unavailable: Gabriel (Injured), Havertz (Injured), Jesus (Injured)

Questionable: Odegaard (Fitness), Gyokeres (Fitness)

Bayern Munich team news: Luis Diaz suspended

Colombia international winger Luis Diaz is missing through suspension after his red card against Paris Saint-Germain a few weeks ago, leaving Bayern short in attack as Serge Gnabry is out injured.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Laimer, Tah, Upamecano, Stanisic; Kimmich, Pavlovic; Karl, Kane, Olise; Jackson

Unavailable: Guerreiro (Injured), Davies (IInjured), Musiala (Injured), Diaz (Suspended), Gnabry (Injured)

Questionable:

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich prediction

Arsenal have a very deep squad nowadays, after another summer of heavy spending. In fact, the Gunners appear in a very good spot to be able to challenge on all four fronts this season. The loss of Luis Diaz is likely to leave Bayern looking quite unbalanced in the final third and so Arsenal will be content in the knowledge that they can limit the Bavarians and also hurt them going the other way so a straightforward home win, ending Bayern’s unbeaten start to the season, seems a good shout.

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich Tip: Arsenal to win
