We’re only one round into the group stage and already Argentina are under massive pressure following a disastrous showing this past weekend. The South Americans were outplayed by Poland and fell to a 3-0 loss, a terrible five-minute period in the first seeing them concede twice proving pivotal in the context of the game.
You’d expect to see a much-improved Argentine side against Benin, particularly from an attacking point of view with them now needing a victory desperately. But Benin were very much competitive vs Mexico, coming from behind to draw 2-2. It’s hard to see Argentina and their fragile backline keeping Benin out and backing both teams to score in a high-scoring fixture appears a shrewd play.
