FIFA 19 eSports – News Round-Up

In our weekly round-up here at The Stats Zone, we look at the biggest talking points currently within the FIFA eSports scene. These may range from player transfers, online/offline tournament announcements, tournament results and more.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Last weekend saw the conclusion of two domestic competitions. First to conclude was season two of the eSuperliga in Copenhagen, which saw FC Kobenhavn become Danish champions after defeating Brondby in the final. After not having the FIFA 19 season they would have hoped for, this victory will taste incredibly sweet for Agge, Marcuzo and Mads.

Another domestic winner crowned was Msdossary. The eSaudi Premier League final standings saw the reigning World Champion come out in top spot to add yet another win to his FIFA 19 resume.

DOMESTIC FIXTURES & RESULTS

Round eight of the Australian eLeague saw arguably the biggest shock of the competition so far as Wellington Phoenix defeated highly fancied Melbourne City 11-9 to leapfrog them in the league table.

Top spot still remains with Melbourne Victory who chalked up yet another win, this time against Adelaide United 10-6. There were also wins for Perth Glory (11-9 vs Sydney FC), Central Coast Mariners (5-4 vs Western Sydney Wanderers) and Brisbane Roar (10-6 vs Newcastle). These results see the table looking as follows.

Round 9 takes place tomorrow and the following games are scheduled to take place.

ELSEWHERE

Details of the first ever FIFA eChampions League offline qualification event have been revealed by EA Sports. A total of 64 players qualified for the group stages through online qualification and will now compete in Manchester on April 26-27th for the chance to compete at the finals of the competition in Madrid, the day before the Champions League final.

The first day of competition will see seven rounds of Swiss Style group stage competition, with 32 players advancing to the second day of competition. These players face off in a round of 32 knockout stage, with the remaining 16 players advancing to a final knockout round. The eight winners of the round will book their ticket to Madrid on May 31st.
