Antonia Ruzic vs Qinwen Zheng prediction
Antonia Ruzic has already impressed this season, having started the season with a semi-final appearance in Hobart. She then suffered a dip as she lost three matches in a row. Nevertheless, Ruzic returned to form in Dubai despite only entering the draw as a lucky loser, as she reached the quarter-finals. She advanced to the second-round at Indian Wells after coming from a set and a break down to beat Jennifer Brady. She dominated the decider to win 3-6 6-4 6-2.
She now faces Qinwen Zheng. The Olympic champion made her return to the tour at the Qatar Open following an elbow injury. She won her first two matches after hard-fought three set victories over Sofia Kenin and Alycia Parks, before a loss in round three against Elena Rybakina.
Zheng is the favourite but she is still continuing to make her return to action after a long spell out, and she may be tested at times against Ruzic in the second-round.
